RESET & ELIMINATE PROTOCOL
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this diet is to help you figure out what foods you may be sensitive to, as well as a great tool to reset your body. It eliminates foods that have been known to cause inflammation or that fall under a category that tends to cause digestive issues for some people. The following is a version of the elimination diet that combines the first stages of the Gut and Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) introduction diet for gut healing and then incorporates the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), Autoimmune Protocol Diet (AIP), and the FODMAP DIET.
HOW IT WORKS?
This diet begins with a 10 day introduction to GAPS which has been modified to support those with IBD & IBS. This guide will teach you how and when to introduce new foods. Once you have completed the introduction phase, you will begin adding foods that fall under the “safe” category for all SCD, GAPS, AIP & FODMAPS (all diets that were created for gut healing and reducing bad bacteria in the gut). Once introduced back in, you will assess if they worked for you or not. Then, the remainder of this protocol will guide you on how to add in the the remainder of the food out there, as well as provide you with a list of foods that you are encouraged to avoid all together based on all three diets. This is not a “diet” but rather is a lifestyle change that promotes healing and health for your body utilizing and combining various tools that have helped many. Keep in mind that this is the beginning step to using food as ONE of your healing tools. Your first line of defense is to figure out which foods may aggravate your IBD or IBS symptoms. There is more to look at beyond your food sensitivities but this is a great place to begin
